The Kansas City Symphony kicks off its classical season with world-renowned violinist and Grammy®-award winner Hilary Hahn. Celebrated for her innovative interpretations, captivating stage presence and emotional sophistication, Hahn brings her stunning virtuosity to Sibelius' expansive and dramatic Violin Concerto. Ravel was long fascinated with the waltz form and the nostalgic Valses nobles et sentimentales shimmers at every turn. Originally composed for the Ballets Russes in 1910, The Firebird was Stravinsky's breakout work and this 1919 suite from the ballet captures all the vibrant beauty and color of the original. The evening begins with the Kansas City premiere of Starburst, a new work by American composer Jonathan Leshnoff, co-commissioned by the Symphony. Sponsored by Frontier Airlines. Tickets: $58, $55, $45, $35, $25 and $18.
