(Kansas City) -- Tickets for all Kansas City Symphony concerts during the upcoming 2010-11 season will go on sale to the public this Monday, July 26 beginning at 10 am. Season subscription package sales have been strong, so many concerts will sell out quickly. And for one week only (July 26-30), patrons may purchase with no per-ticket service charges!

An amazing collection of guest artists will join Music Director Michael Stern and the Kansas City Symphony for the 2010-11 Classical Season, including big names like pianist Andre Watts performing Rachmaninoff's Concerto No. 2. The season opens with Grammy-award winning violinist Hilary Hahn. The lineup includes a world premiere commissioned by the Symphony, a U.S. premiere composed by sensation Avner Dorman, plus works never before performed in Kansas City.

Highlights of the 2010-11 Pops Series, which will be held at Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas, include instrumentalist John Tesh in concert. The four concert series, under the baton of Associate Conductor Steven Jarvi, boasts a range of musical styles from Motown classics to a Sinatra tribute to the Broadway favorite "The Music Man." In addition to the Pops series concerts, tickets will be available on July 26 for a special presentation of the high-flying acrobatic feats of "Cirque de la Symphonie , " and a first-time collaboration with the local ensemble Quixotic.

"Vivaldi's Ring of Mystery" introduces children to the magic of music as part of the four-concert Family Series. Back by popular demand, the 2008 Academy Award-winning film "Peter and the Wolf" returns to tell the tale of Prokofiev's masterpiece through a combination of film and live music.

The spirit of the holiday season continues with Handel's "Messiah," featuring the Kansas City Symphony Chorus together with the Independence Messiah Choir; and "Christmas Festival." This all-new Symphony holiday concert features fresh versions of favorite carols and Christmas classics, plus a visit from Santa himself. "Christmas with the von Trapp Children" is a wonderful family concert featuring the great-grandchildren of the famous von Trapp family who inspired "The Sound Of Music" movie.
