It’s not every day KC’s hometown jazz heroes share the stage, and especially rare for them combine forces with the Kansas City Symphony in Helzberg Hall at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

Thanks to many generous donors the Kansas City Symphony has completed the Masterpiece Endowment Campaign, its largest fundraising effort to date, raising just over $55 million in new endowment funds to strengthen and secure the future of the Symphony.

Big stars, acclaimed movies and timeless music make up the Kansas City Symphony’s varied and thrilling 2017-18 season. The Symphony welcomes performers such as celebrated cellist Yo-Yo Ma, Broadway diva Audra McDonald, pop rock singer/songwriter Melissa Etheridge plus two hometown stars known worldwide for their talents — mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato and saxophonist Bobby Watson — for the coming season. The season also includes tributes that honor the music of Prince, Queen, Kansas City jazz, and Leonard Bernstein for 100th anniversary of his birthday in 2018.
